How many GB is GTA 6?

As of September 22, 2026, the GTA 6 listings on PlayStation Store (US, UK, Europe, Japan, Australia and more) and on the Xbox Store don't show an install size either.

So every GB figure going around on social media or YouTube is a guess. None of them come from Rockstar, Sony or Microsoft.

When can you preload GTA 6?

Preload opens on November 12, 2026 at midnight local time, a week ahead of the November 19 launch. In the US the game itself unlocks at 00:00 ET on launch day, which is 05:00 UTC.

Digital pre-orders can start downloading from November 12. With a physical copy, preload kicks in once you redeem the code that comes in the box.

Does the GTA 6 physical copy need a download?

Yes, the whole game. Rockstar says the boxed version doesn't contain a disc, just a download code, and boxes ship from November 12. Disc drive or not, you're pulling the full game down from the store, so buying physical doesn't save you any space or bandwidth.

How much storage does each console have?

Those are total drive sizes. System software and whatever you already have installed eat into that before GTA 6 gets a byte.

Is 512GB enough for GTA 6 on Xbox Series S?

Can't say until the size is published. The 512GB Series S has the smallest drive of any console GTA 6 runs on, and with no disc drive everything comes from the download. It's the model where you're most likely to be juggling space.
