A new archive called "Extended Leek" with about 25 minutes of footage appeared

The leaker said the clips were a protest against the boxed edition shipping a download code instead of a disc, against pre-orders and against digital-only sales. The same videos also promoted a crypto coin.

Take-Two's DMCA subpoena requests, filed August 20 in federal court in New York, ask Discord for identity and IP records of several accounts including CYBERLEEK, and ask Microsoft for records tied to the GitHub repository where footage was posted. It isn't a lawsuit, and neither company is accused of anything. As of October 27, no arrest or name has been made public.

What did Rockstar say about the leaks?

In the August 26 post Rockstar called the leaks heartbreaking for its team and said this was not how it wanted players to see the game. It said the game is nearly finished and will get plenty of updates after launch, and asked fans to dodge spoilers and wait for November 19.

That statement was the first time Rockstar indirectly acknowledged that the clips were genuine. Copies of the videos were hit with a wave of takedown notices. Rockstar has not commented separately on the 25-minute video from October 8.

Will GTA 6 be delayed because of the leaks?

No. On October 27 Rockstar's game page still says November 19, 2026, and pre-orders are open on PlayStation and Xbox. The launch trailer went out on October 15, well after the leaks.

Pre-load starts on November 12, 2026. The game's two earlier delays had nothing to do with the leaks; the full delay history has its own guide.

Is the leaked GTA 6 footage the final game?

No. The clips come from a development build, and Rockstar hasn't said which one. Outlets disagree on how old it is: some call it an older build, others say it looks close to final. Graphics, UI and missions changing before launch is normal.

According to reports, the October 8 video shows a car customization garage, a mud race at the Thrillbilly Mud Club, first-person driving and some cutscenes. Rockstar has not announced any of these as features.

Is it safe to download the GTA 6 leak?

No. The October 8 footage circulated as an anonymous ZIP archive of roughly 370 MB, and files like that can carry malware. Sites offering a "GTA 6 leak download" or a "GTA 6 APK" don't have the game either; GTA 6 only downloads from PlayStation Store and the Microsoft Store.

FAQ

Do the leaks spoil the story?
Rockstar warned that the leaks may contain spoilers. Most of the August clips were open-world footage, but the October 8 video includes cutscenes, so skip it if you want the story fresh.
